The oldest narrow-gauge railroad in the United States is the East Broad Top Railroad. This railroad operates a small fleet of Baldwin-built Mikados that haul passengers through the Aughwick Valley between Rockhill Furnace and Colgate Grove, Pennsylvania.
This video will teach a little history of the line and show the “truck swap” from standard to narrow gauge trucks at Mount Union. Also shown is the tourist operation from start to finish as well as views of the Shade Gap Railway where you will see standard gauge trolleys and interurbans sharing dual gauge track with the East Broad Top trains.
