Finishing up our 2024 collection is a Milwaukee, Racine & Troy wood-side twin hopper. The model, which uses Accurail’s 2700-series tooling, is painted black with white graphics and includes a coal load.
Features on the plastic kit (era: July 1943+) include a one-piece body; a modeler-installed frame, brake appliances, hopper door beams, and door closing mechanisms; and two unpainted steel weights. The kit also has solid-bearing trucks with 33” Derlin wheelsets, two-piece Accumate knuckle couplers with metal trip pins, and four 2-56 x 3/16” pan head machine screws (two each for the trucks and draft-gear box covers). Written, illustrated instructions are included.
The limited-run car, produced in the United States of America, is offered in one road number.
The MR&T wood-side twin hopper would look great on steam and steam-to-diesel transition era layouts. Order now to get this car on your model railroad!
