This Mitre Cutter is a workbench essential for your thin styrene and wood cutting needs. On those occasions when I needed to cut styrene or wood strip to just the right length and at a precise angle, I was always frustrated by the results I was getting with a hobby knife. Even using a straightedge didn’t help.
Those annoyances are a thing of the past thanks to the Mitre Cutter from Green Stuff World. Armed with a sturdy titanium nitride utility knife blade locked into a thick handle on a pivot, it will go through styrene from .4-4mm thick with a satisfying snap. Adjustable guides make it easy to cut any angle from 0-60 degrees. The blade cuts against a clear plastic disk with an indentation where the blade hits to ensure it goes all the way through the material.
Reminiscent of IKEA furniture, the tool comes in flat pack and the laser cut MDF parts need to be carefully assembled with wood glue for use. The Mitre Cutter is now an essential tool on my workbench, along with my Tamiya hobby knife and Excel tweezers.
If you ever cut thin styrene or wood, you need this cutter.
