East Broad Top Poster

SKU: 83224
$9.99

This 11"x17" poster features a comprehensive look at the legendary East Broad Top line. Exclusively from Trains magazine.

Exclusively from Trains magazine, this poster is your guide to the legendary East Broad Top.

Tucked away in the woods and hills of central Pennsylvania is a 33-mile-long narrow gauge railroad, most of which hasn't seen a train since April 1956.  Dozens of freight cars - mostly hoppers - still populate the yards.  Six steam locomotives designed and built for the railroad by Baldwin between 1911 and 1920 have occupied the same roundhouse since they first came on the property.  Clean-air laws and wholesale conversion to oil and gas killed the once-thriving coal hauler in 1956.  The railroad was purchased in 1960 by The Kovalchick Salvage Co., who not only saved the railroad but started running excursion trains in 1960.  Now, thanks to the East Broad Top Foundation, which purchased the whole shebang in 2020, it's all finally coming back to life.

This poster features a comprehensive look at the line, noting major mines and quarries, a map of Orbisonia, the current status of branches of the line, and more!

This poster in 17"x11" and is printed on 100 lb. gloss text stock.
