Looking to model something other than the big railroads? In this Digital Download collection, we visit five HO scale model railroads based on full-size regional and shortline carriers. Our first stop is to a 9 x 10-foot layout depicting a modern day short line in northeast Georgia. Then we visit a 13 x 26-foot multi-deck walk-in layout based on a Michigan short line that was still running high-hood Geeps in 2010. From there it’s off to New York to see a model railroad based on the Fonda, Johnstown & Gloversville in the 1950s. The journey continues with a visit to a 12 x 22-foot around-the-walls layout featuring two Iowa carriers in the early 2010s. We wrap up our journey by dropping in on a model railroad based on the Twin Cities & Western in central Minnesota.
