The Huey in Vietnam

David Doyle

SKU: 85236
$19.99

If you're planning on modeling a Huey, this book is a great resource for superdetailing projects and will provide outstanding inspiration for dioramas.

Nicknamed the Huey based on its initial designation HU-1 and officially designated the Iroquois, Bell's UH-1 first flew in 1956. Many still serve around the world, but it was the Huey's deployment and combat service in Vietnam for which the helicopter is most recognized.

That history is the subject of The Huey in Vietnam — Bell's UH-1 at War by David Doyle. Part of Schiffer's Legends of Warfare Aviation series, the 112-page hardcover brims with photos of Hueys. The book is divided into just two sections. The initial chapter traces the evolution of the UH-1 family from the prototype XH-40 through the UH-1B and the longer-bodied UH-1D and H. It includes numerous photos of preserved examples that will be great for superdetailing projects. The second section is devoted to images of Hueys in Vietnam that reveal details and provide outstanding inspiration for dioramas. Also included are several pages devoted to photos of Australian Hueys.
